WK4- Project 1 Digital Matte Painting FINAL - Due Sunday, 2/13 midnight


This week (WK4) you will submit your Digital Matte Painting project for a final grade. The expectation is that you have read all the feedback posted about your work in the peer critique from last week (WK3). You have implemented all suggestions made by your peers and instructor and at this point your work is in finish form.

Use the checklist below to ensure your final work meets all the criteria below before submission for grading.

Grading Criteria for Digital Matte Painting PSD file. (submit (1) final .psd layered file format)

  1. Photoshop document should be 8.5 x 11 portrait or landscape format, 150 dpi or higher, RGB mode

  2. DMP must use at least 5 - 10 found or created images of any subject matter

  3. 1 line of text, either prominent or hidden somewhere in the piece

  4. Artist signature must be apparent somewhere in the piece

  5. Photoshop technique should be well handled, masking, selection quality, image resolution and composition design

  6. Your layers should show that you made an attempt to adjust the lighting and apply cast shadows to create depth throughout the piece

  7. Fantasy scene is original and well executed according to plan

Grading Criteria for Digital Matte Painting process work. (submit (1) combined process document .doc or PDF format)

  1. As stated in the (WK4) Lecture-Submit Project 1 you will need to combine your process work together into one document, preferably a Word or PDF document

  2. Include the following in your final process report,

    (WK2) Sketch & Research work
    (WK2) Images and Image rationale
    (WK3) DMP development .jpg

    Citation page citing all images used, if borrowed

Create a folder named your lastname_DMP Final, place the layered PSD file and the final process report into that folder. Create a .zip folder of all the contents of this folder. Make sure before you submit your work you have labeled the folder with your lastname_DMP Final. Submit your work to this assignment area for grading.
