This Discussion Assignment will be completed in eCampus.

Each student has been assigned a question in the grid below. Answers to questions should be posted in the appropriate Discussion Thread in eCampus. Each students's answer summary to their question should be (1) paragraph in length, (6) sentences total. THE SUMMARY MUST BE WRITTEN IN YOUR OWN WORDS, COPY/PASTING FROM THE INTERNET IS CHEATING. Be sure to post all internet hyperlinks as clickable links so all classmates and the instructor can view your citation. (see instructions below)

In addition to answering the question you must also respond to at least (2) of your classmates posts. Each written response should be at least (3) sentences in length and add content value to the discussion. All student summaries are DUE by Friday, 1/21/22 by midnight and all responses to students posts are DUE by Sunday, 1/23/22 by midnight.

Making sure your links are Clickable

1. To make clickable links inside a discussion post select and copy the URL of the web site you are using as a citation. The URL is located inside the search bar when you are viewing a web page.
2. Open a new post inside the Discussion and compose your answer. After the description is complete paste the URL of the web site you are citing as a reference.
3. eCampus will detect you are posting a web link and make a clickable link automatically.
4. Once you finish your post, click on each link to double check that your web links are clickable.
5. Clickable web links are usually indicated with underline styling. (i.e. This is my web link styling.)

   Discuss the proper use of copyright material in artwork or graphic design and how it can impact your visual choices. In this discussion you will address the proper use of copyright material as a student in school and as a professional in field.

   Discuss what components of graphic design or original artwork work is protected by copyright law. Include in your answer the steps an artist/designer can take to ensure full protection of their work from copyright infringement.

   Discuss the choices artist/designers have of copyright-free resources available to use as visuals in projects. Provide a listing of at least 3 resources in either Internet web links or printed materials available for use. In your summary explain why your resources are useful.

   How does one use copyright material found on a Wikipedia site? In your answer explain the process of locating the author information and how to create a MLA citation.

   What is Creative Commons and how does it work? In your answer explain how a visual artist can use it legally and what are it's limitations?

   Compare and contrast the differences and similarities between royalty-free images, stock images and public domain images. In your answer discuss examples of how one could use either one of these types of images within their work.
