WK3- Project 1 Peer Critique

Based on your report from WK1, bring your Digital Matte Painting (DMP) far along to show progress in your project. (75 - 85% complete) This week you will post your DMP in an open forum for class feedback. It is critical that you follow the rules for posting your DMP to ensure this critique is as beneficial for everyone as possible. There are (2) deadlines for the critique process. The first deadline is posting of your DMP to the discussion threads so other classmates can write a brief critique. The deadline for the first posting (by you) is Friday, 2/4 by midnight. The second posting (by you) is on Sunday, 2/6 by midnight where you will write a brief critique on at least (2) other follow classmates work. Follow the checklist below to ensure you don't miss out on valuable feedback from your classmates.

1. Post your DMP progress (75 - 85% complete) by Friday, 2/4 by midnight. Label your thread post with your lastname_DMP and attach a layered PSD file for review.

2. Your project should be started and you should have created your document setup as instructed in WK1_Lecture Video.

3. You should have selected all the images (5-10 images) you plan to use in this project as stated in your progress report for WK1.

4. Create your document with the following parameters 8.5 x 11 @ 150dpi, orientation can be either portriat or landscape.

5. You should have adjusted the resolution of all your images to match the master document as instructed in WK2_Lecture Videos.

6. You should have all the images compiled inside the master document and have begun the layout of your Digital Matte Painting according to your sketch work submitted in WK1.

7. You should be working to refine your masking and selection techniques so the images appear seamless when brought together in the master document, this is reviewed in WK3_Lecture Videos.

8. You will post a native Photoshop document with layers of your progress. Use the list above as a checklist of areas I will be looking for when grading your progress. You should be at the level of 75-85% complete with the overall project.

9. Return to the threads Sunday, 2/6 by midnight and critique (2) of your classmates works. The written critique must be (1) paragraph in length, (6) sentences total. Your critique should point out the following 1). What is working in the piece 2). What is not working in the piece 3). Make suggestions for improvements

10. Be sure to label your critiques your lastname_CRT#1 & lastname_CRT#2

11. Based on these suggestions you should work to revise your work to the FINAL submission DUE in WK3.

12. Post any questions you have to the WK3 Problems and Solutions discussion area.
