Submit WK6 Project 1 Progress Report

WK6- Project 1 Progress Report DUE Sunday, 10/2 by midnight

The Project 1 Famous Person or Event Layout Series comprises of three layouts, in WK4 you did research, sketches and selected a topic for the project, WK5 you compiled the content you will use in the project and this week WK6 you will begin to create the page layouts and start assembly of the content into InDesign. You will also choose the colors you will use for the layouts designs.

Based on progress of Project 1 you should be moving forward with the layouts and be somewhere in the range of 50 - 65% complete. You should have watched all the videos posted inside WK5 Preparing Images & WK6 Setup for the layout designs.This week you will post your layout designs and show the progress of the last few weeks. You will submit (2) documents this week, a PDF and InDesign .indd document for grading.

To create the PDF for this submission you will follow the typical set of instructions for making a PDF, except this PDF will include crop marks and bleed. You will create (1) InDesign document with (3) – 8.5 x 11 pages for this project. When you save out your PDF you will have (3) pages in your PDF.

  1. Post your layout designs progress (50 - 65% complete) on Sunday, 2/27 by midnight. Label all the work you turn in for grading with your lastname_P1.indd and/or lastname_P1.pdf, attach (1) InDesign document and (1)  PDF file. 

  2. Images: Based on the instructional videos from WK5, all images should be prepared in Photoshop to be placed into the InDesign document. All image mask should be complete and the resolution should be adjusted to 150-200dpi for this project. 

  3. Text: All text content intended to be used in the document should be placed into the document as FPO (for position only). The design of the text does not have to be totally complete at this time, but the content should be present in the document.

  4. Document: The page setup for the layout design is 8.5 x 11 and it should be in (1) InDesign document with (3) pages, as instructed in WK6 Lectures.

  5. Crop Marks: Make sure when you save out the PDF you turn on crop marks and bleed information, all PDF documents should have crop marks whether you have bleed or not.

  6. Color: The InDesign document should have a swatches panel with the colors used for the project ONLY. All other colors in the swatches panel should be removed.

  7. Based on the feedback from your professor you should work to revise your projects for the critique in WK7, final submissions are DUE in WK8.

  8. Post any questions you have to the WK6 Problems and Solutions discussion area.

To submit this report for grading you will save the InDesign as a PDF. You will submit (2) documents this week, an InDesign document with (3) pages and a PDF with (3) pages.  You will attach these documents and any other materials to this assignment area. All files submitted to the eCampus classroom must be labeled properly in order to receive proper credit for you work. Label both the InDesign document and PDF file with your lastname_P1. Remember if you have multiple files or additional materials create a .zip file first of all your documents and attach everything as one document. DO NOT SUBMIT ANY DOCUMENTS LARGER THEN 25 MGS. If you have large files, you will need to res them down to 72 dpi to ensure they can be transfered over the Internet.
